A house, a tree and two birds

HERE IS my latest painting .. a gift for my brother and his girlfriend who have just bought their first house together. It is painted with oils on an old slice of wood found last year on one of our walks in these Scottish hills. I have left the uneven cracked and sawn surface, because I like that sort if thing...

Rima, it is lovely...really lovely. I like the two birds and how the cracks in the wood make a little pinwheel of the tree. It is a memento to be cherished.

This is really nice Rima. I love the interplay between the wood and the paint, like you took some cues from the wood itself. It has a lot of warmth to it.

You seem to make every surface and object you touch magical. All things out of a fairytale reality a little 'left' of our own...
